If you know me, you’d know I’m uber interested in the nitty-gritty details of building a healthy lifestyle : making healthy meals, inventing recipes and trying them out, working out (lol, yeah, i have a love-hate relationship with this one).
I’m also a big believer in “not waiting for a new year or a new month to start over”, and I think that concept is silly. If you fall down in the middle of the track in a race, you get up and continue from there. You don’t go back to the beginning of the track, or lie there waiting for the next race.
Making positive changes to your life doesn’t and shouldn’t have a “use-by date” , and with this, here are tried and trusted ways to kickstarting yo’ health that you can put into practise today :
- You need a plan, a specific one :
What are your goals? What are you trying to achieve? Do you want to lose weight? Get fit? Eat healthier? You need to write down your goals and map out exactly how you’re going to reach them.
- get a book just for this, and make it your health journal
- be specific about your goals. Be specific about your process
2. Start NOW :
Don’t wait till the beginning of something. Do what you can right now. Make your next meal healthier. Sign up in a local gym. Swap that bottle of coke or cup of juice for lemon water or some green tea. Go for a walk. Don’t get bogged down by your decisions in the past, or even the ones you made this morning, you can make changes right now.
3. You need to be consistent :
There’s no way around it. It’s going to suck in the beginning. A lot. Getting your body to change, to adapt; getting your mind to think differently is difficult, and there’s just no getting around it.
There are no worthwhile shortcuts to success (lol,we all wish they were), but :
” Stop beating yourself up. You are a work in progress, which means you’d get there a little at a time, not all at once”
